As many know, the Columbia River Maritime Museum and Lightship in Astoria is outstanding. Since we will be around Astoria, I have a couple of free passes that I will make available to anyone that wants to see what this is all about. I will bring these along with me. Let me know. The only cost is 30 seconds on why you should consider joining... Bob

I'm interested. I'm considering building a boat specifically for exploring the lower Columbia. It has to camp better than my Weekender and sail into waves better than my Puddle Duck. I'd like tro see the museum just to get some ideas. (that's not 30 seconds, so read real slow.)

Andrew, not sure you will find what you are looking for in the main collection. However, the archival storage across Hwy 30 and S a block has a lot of smaller vesssels in it as well as a plethora of older gear and engines, etc., which may be more fruitful. This portion of the CRMM's holdings is open for prearranged, special tours only. John Kohnen has had the Coots down a couple times for this special deal. he might be able to tell you how to see the archival materials.
